Welcome to the AMD FPGA's: Low-Cost, High Performance Spartan-3 Generation training module. This session will cover the Spartan 3 family and the features associated with it that enable designing a system for the lowest cost and reduced board space. This is done in two ways. First, by using the right features of the Spartan-3 family, you can design for the smallest possible device and, in some cases, a slower speed grade device lowering the unit device cost. Secondly, by using some of the other features associated with the Spartan family you can simplify the manufacturing and the designing of your PCB resulting in total lower system cost.
