The GWS500 can be used in equipment that needs to meet either Energy Star in the US or the European ErP/EuP requirements for standby power, as the unit is specified to draw less than 0.5W. In this condition the output is inhibited using the remote on/off feature. Of course no power is pulled from the standby output. Even when the output is enabled, the offload power draw is only 6W.
