Now there are certainly challenges with embedded systems in a connected world. The trend is for systems to become more connected, and legacy systems that were never intended to be connected to a network are now being interconnected. As soon as a system is on the network, the stakes increase, and developers are forced to really take security seriously when developing their product. Now it may appear at first as a straight-forward task, but it can be a challenge to get this right for the entire life cycle of a product.
