STMicroelectronics' battery monitor for gas gauge applications in handheld systems

Image of STMicroelectronics' STC3100 - Battery Monitor ICSTMicroelectronics' STC3100 monitors the critical parameters of single-cell Li-ion batteries (voltage, temperature, and current) and includes hardware functions to implement a gas gauge for battery charge monitoring that is based on a programmable 12-14 bit A/D converter. The STC3100 is programmable and communicates through I2C interface.

The STC31000 has a built-in temperature sensor and an I2C interface for charge monitoring and device control. This device has a wide operating temperature that ranges from -40°C to 85°C. It also has a wide supply voltage range.
