SMT-0340-T-R and SMT-0440 Series Ultra-Compact Surface-Mount Transducers

The PUI Audio SMT-0440 series reduces the footprint of their already compact SMT-0540 transducers by 20%, with overall dimensions of just 4 mm x 4 mm x 2 mm. Available in both side-firing (SMT-0440-S-R) and top-firing (SMT-0440-T-R) configurations, each device delivers a 70 dB, 4 kHz tone (measured at 10 cm) while drawing no more than 90 mA at 2 V₀₋ₚ to 4 V₀₋ₚ input. This series is designed for medical devices, consumer electronics, and any application where board space is at a premium.

Taking miniaturization to the next level, PUI Audio introduces the SMT-0340-T-R, a 3 mm x 3 mm surface-mount transducer. At less than 1/6 the size of a dime, the SMT-0340-T-R is engineered for 3 V₀₋ₚ input and optimized for wearable and handheld devices requiring audible notifications. With a relatively flat frequency response from 500 Hz to 10 kHz, it supports polyphonic applications and delivers peak performance in the 3.5 kHz to 4.2 kHz range.
