MPS' 16 V, 10 A and 20 A scalable DC/DC power modules feature PMBus

Image of MPS' MPM3695 Power ModuleMPS' MPM3695 is a scalable, fully integrated power module with a PMBus interface. These devices offer a complete power solution that achieves up to 25 A of peak output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input voltage range. It operates with high efficiency over a wide load range and can be paralleled to deliver a higher load current. The MPM3695 features full protection features including overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), and overtemperature protection (OTP).

The MPM3695 adopts MPS' proprietary, multi-phase constant-on-time (MCOT) control, which provides ultra-fast transient response and simple loop compensation. The PMBus interface provides module configurations and monitoring of key parameters. These devices are available in QFN-59 (10 mm x 12 mm) and LGA-45 (8 mm x 8 mm) packages.

  • Wide input voltage range from 3 V:
    • Input voltage with external VCC: 3 V to 16 V
    • Input voltage with internal VCC: 4 V to 16 V
  • Output voltage range: 0.5 V to 5.5 V
  • Programmable via PMBus:
    • Current limit
    • Selection of pulse-skip mode or continuous-conduction mode (CCM)
    • Soft-start time
    • Switching frequency
    • Fault limits
  • Continuous output current: up to 20 A, peak 25 A
  • Reference voltage: 1% over junction temperature range: 0°C to +70°C
  • True remote sense of output voltage
  • PMBus 1.3 compliant
  • Telemetry readback including VIN, VOUT, IOUT, temperature, and faults
  • Auto-interleaving for multi-phase operation
  • Auto-compensation with adaptive MCOT for ultra-fast transient response
  • Packages: QFN-59 (10 mm x 12 mm) and LGA-45 (8 mm x 8 mm)
