LT1964 200 mA, Low Noise, LDO Negative Regulator

Analog Devices' LT1964 is a micropower low noise, low dropout (LDO) negative regulator. The regulator is capable of supplying 200 mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 340 mV. Low quiescent current (30 μA operating and 3 μA shutdown) makes the LT1964 an excellent choice for battery-powered instruments, and test and measurement applications. Other features of the regulator include low output noise. With the addition of an external 0.01 μF bypass capacitor, output noise is reduced to 30 μV_RMS over a 10 Hz to 100 kHz bandwidth. The LT1964 is capable of operating with small capacitors and is stable with output capacitors as low as 1 μF. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse output protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting. The device is available with a fixed output voltage of -5 V and as an adjustable device with a -1.22 V reference voltage. The LT1964 regulators have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
