How Hydraulic & Pneumatic Actuators Work – ATM | DigiKey

When electromechanical actuators are either too slow or do not pack enough power to overcome a load, pneumatic and hydraulic systems can provide the speed or power to get the job done. Each require accessory items such as pumps, valves, and limiters but the benefits are substantial with pneumatics providing speed and hydraulics tremendous amounts of power.
