This is a comparison between the VNI4140 (new generation) and the VN340 (previous generation). Going to the new generation allows to dissipate less heat (and hence, lose less energy). As heat is often a major constraint in applications using IPS, A lower RDSON allows to decrease the power to dissipate by 42%. This low RDSON on 4 channels is manufactured thanks to the VIPower technology. This technology allows a mono-die solution, even for 4 or 8 channels, increasing the reliability which is an important parameter in industrial applications.
