A wiring diagram tells the customer which conductors connect together. In many cases the wiring diagram will follow a simple industry standard. However, one should not assume that a cable will work for the project simply because the connectors are the ones needed; check the wiring diagram to ensure that the cable sends the power or signal to the pins needed. Wiring diagrams in the form or a table typically read across, meaning that items in the same row are electrically connected. Each connector or wire has a column to itself.
