Shown here is the roadmap for general-purpose MPUs and embedded AI MPUs. Shown in the lower part of the slide, is the general purpose MPUs, namely RZ/A and RZ/G series MPUs. Targeting the AI market space, Renesas’ has expanded the embedded AI MPU portfolio bringing RZ/V series MPUs that are equipped with Renesas' proprietary AI accelerator called DRP-AI to the market. RZ/V2M is the first product in the V series as an ASSP for AI Camera focusing on Vision AI in endpoint devices. Now Renesas is releasing the RZ/V2L as an entry-level Vision AI MPU for endpoint devices. Note that RZ/V2L is fully pin-compatible with the RZ/G2L, a general-purpose MPU without AI Accelerator, giving customers options to easily build a product with or without AI functions.
