Advanced Energy Xgen supplies are designed to be used in a wide range of applications. To provide the most flexibility, the output modules do not contain blocking diodes which should be added whenever there is the potential for energy feedback. The parallel combination of modules provides a high degree of maximum current flexibility. The modules in parallel must be set to precise voltage levels to prevent current overload. In some instances, the maximum output power of a module may be limited by its slot location within a PowerPac. One last caution, the output modules are not hot swappable. For this reason, the PowerPac must be turned off for a full 2 minutes before removing an output module, or the power supply will latch off.
