Until recently, transferring power across an isolation barrier required either a separate dc-to-dc converter or a discrete custom design. Unfortunately, both solutions were relatively large, and expensive. ADI has solved this problem by combining the iCoupler and isoPower technologies into a single integrated package. The ADM3251E eliminates the need for a separate isolated power supply and also provides functional integration that can dramatically reduce the complexity, size, and cost of an isolated system. The ADM3251E offers state of the art digital signal isolation and outperforms many optocouplers in terms of power, size and performance.
