Circuit Protection/Load Dump with PTCEL

Moving to the second topic of this training module, PTCs for inrush current limiting will be discussed. Vishay is one of the first manufacturers to propose electronic web models for PTC inrush current limiting components. Vishay’s PTCEL series will be highlighted in the coming slides in both LTspice® and SystemVision Cloud. The PTCEL models include the best possible fitting of the resistance vs. temperature curve, the tolerances on the resistance at ambient, the self-heating, and the VDR (voltage dependency) effects needed for an accurate simulation.
