Finally, since the long life fans are meant to last many years of operations, the components used in its construction are more robust. For instance, the electrical components in the fan are all rated to a higher temperature and derating value. The PCB is conformally coated to protect it against the environment. The ball bearings and grease are of a higher grade material than the standard fans and the long life fans make use of an aluminum frame to dissipate heat away quickly. All these design points combine to effectively reduce bearing temperature.
