The key differentiator of the LPC1700 series is its best-in-class performance. The LPC1700 series executes benchmark code on average 35% faster than competitor Cortex-M3 parts at the same clock speed, but the LPC1700 series is not limited to the 40 to 80 Megahertz maximum clock speed of the competition. The LPC1700 can operate at 100 to 120 Megahertz maximum clock speed. This means that the LPC1700 series can execute the EEMBC benchmarking code more than twice as fast, giving customers higher performance and/or lower power consumption.
