The data transfer rate for DDR memory is always increasing and will continue to increase as the need for higher data transfer speeds and huge data processing requirements increase. As a result of the transfer rate increase, the frequency and magnitude of the ripple voltage also increases. In order to solve the ripple voltage problem, Low ESL capacitors are recommended as a solution to bypass the high speed noise and also conserve board space.
