HyperLight Load™ Step-Down Regulators are also very cost-effective solutions capable of displacing traditional fixed frequency PWM step-down devices in many cases. In situations where constant switching frequency is required, HyperLight Load regulators can emulate a fixed frequency switching regulator by simply increasing the value of inductor placed at the output. In the case of the MIC23031, use of a 4.7µH inductor results in a constant 4MHz switching frequency from a 10mA output current all the way up to the maximum rating of 400mA.
