A summary of the benefits of LTPoE++ controllers is presented on this slide. LTPoE++ is a simple standard to use, offering up to 90W of PD power and 100% interoperability with LTPoE++, PoE+ or PoE equipment. Linear Technology’s high port-count PSE controllers offer a novel way to reduce total solution costs by replacing multiple high speed optocouplers and an isolated supply with inexpensive Ethernet transformers. All LTPoE++ solutions offer low EMI, well below the CISPRS class B limit. External components are used, such as power MOSFETs and sense resistors, whenever applicable to minimize heat and improve power efficiency. The same external components, along with a TVS and clamping diodes scheme, high absolute maximum voltage analog pins, wide operating temperature, and overtemperature protection all make for highly robust solutions that meet IEC61000 cable discharge requirements.
