The temperature rise, above ambient, at the full 90W power level without any forced airflow is an easily manageable 35°C. If regular diode bridges had been used, the temperature rise would be well beyond 100°C, needing significant design resources to bring it down to manageable levels. To summarize the benefits, the LT4321 increases the useful power available to the PD while shrinking its thermal design time and circuit size.
