Board level shielding is an important component in most current circuit designs. With the size of circuit boards continually shrinking and the amount of electronic devices ever increasing, the need for effective and economical shielding solutions is growing rapidly. As the circuits are getting smaller, manufactures are able closely fit several different electronic circuits into increasingly smaller areas. One example of this can be seen in today's automobile designs where radio, navigation, hands free phone system, etc. are all placed in the dash of the car. The ability for these circuits to work correctly in the presence of each other circuits without causing interference related problems is crucial.
