In summary, The ISL8203M is a complete power supply that provides a fast, simple design for customers. Ideal for POL applications where a step down voltage is required from a 3.3V or 5V source, the ISL8203M is capable of producing two independent outputs each rated at 3A. Additionally, it is possible to combine the two outputs to create a single 6A current-sharing output. The Renesas module integrates the main power components, controller, FETs, and inductor, to provide a plug-and-play power supply solution. Available in a small overmolded 9mm x 6.5mm QFN package, the ISL8203M provides a high power density design with minimal board space. With this new QFN based module packaging the full 6A output current can be delivered at ambient temperatures as high as 85°C without the need for heatsinks or fans.
