The ADuM347x includes the circuit functions to make an isolated 2W DC/DC converter; that is the transformer driver, PWM controller and isolated feedback signal. The feedback signal enables the controller to produce a well regulated output which can range from a 3.3V to 30V. Depending on the implementation and conditions, the supply efficiency can be up to 75% with a flat efficiency curve down to light loads. The controller has an adjustable oscillator which allows the users to optimize designs as they see fit. The oscillator frequency can be adjusted from 200kHz to 1MHz with an external resistor. The ADuM347x provides other features, such as soft start and thermal shut down desired in a sophisticated DC/DC converter. The ADuM347x also has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. Also included in the same small SSOP-20 package are four channels of iCoupler digital isolation. The ADuM347x provides 2500Vrms of safety isolation with certifications for UL1577, IEC 60950-1 and reinforced VDE0884-10 pending (at the time this PTM was written).
