 MikroElektronika's NFC 3 Click compact add-on board includes an NFC transceiver for contactless communication at 13.56 MHz. This board features the PN5180A0HN, a high-performance multiprotocol full NFC Forum-compliant frontend from NXP Semiconductors. The PN5180A0HN utilizes an outstanding modulation and demodulation concept for different contactless communication methods and protocols. It fully complies with reader/writer standards (ISO 14443A/B, ISO 15693, ISO 18092, and more) and supports reading all NFC tag types (1, 2, 3, 4A, and 4B). In addition to the serial peripheral interface (SPI) host interface for configuration, NFC data exchange, and high-level NFC protocol implementation, it also features high RF output power to directly drive an antenna etched on the PCB. Alongside the possibility of updating the implemented firmware, reset, and interrupt features, it also uses only 3.3 V for its operation.
