The Monolithic Power Systems MP28600 ultra-low quiescent current (I_Q) synchronous boost converter for battery-powered products, where high efficiency under light-load conditions is critical to achieve a long battery life. It can start up from an input voltage (V_IN) as low as 0.7 V, and it can work down to a 0.1 V V_IN after start-up. The MP28600 features PSM to achieve high-efficiency conversion under light-load conditions.

The MP28600 features boost mode and down mode for different V_IN conditions. In down mode, the output voltage (V_OUT) can still be regulated at its target value, even when V_IN exceeds V_OUT. It is available in a space-saving SOT563 (1.6 mm x 1.6 mm) package.
