The Meerstetter LDD-1321 laser diode driver is a high-precision current driver specifically designed and optimized for low-current continuous wave (CW) laser diode applications. Its fully digital configuration ensures precise and consistent control of output current and voltage, making it ideal for sensitive laser operations. It features multiple communication interfaces, including USB, RS485, RS232 TTL, and CANopen, providing high flexibility for system integration. The laser driver’s intuitive digital interface can be configured with the free PC software, requiring no extensive programming skills. This ease of use, combined with its robust safety features such as dual temperature inputs for laser diode monitoring ensures a user-friendly and reliable experience in a wide range of applications.
Typical use cases of the LDD-1321 include fiber optic communication, biomedical instrumentation, material processing, and scientific research. As an optional feature, the laser driver additionally supports laser power control (LPC), enabling the regulation of laser output using a photodiode input. Although focused on delivering precise current control, the LDD-1321 is also designed with expandability in mind. For users requiring thermal management, the LDD-1321 can be seamlessly paired with the PWR-1191 plug-in TEC driver board, adding complete TEC controller functionality (bipolar output: ±4 A/±20 V) to the system.
